Great food! Price is right. Supplier was very friendly. Sharp here also means sharp :-D that's how it has to be.

The food might have been good, but I didn't get to eat it, because we ordered one of our dishes without nuts (as I'm allergic) and none of them as marked as such. When we called the restaurant they did not pick up. Thanks for that. No dinner for me, I guess.

This is the worst Indian food restaurant ever, frozen meat served in hot water and food color 😡 Tough meat and tasteless. This is a big no no place. Never going there again.

The food in the Gandhi restaurant tastes very good and the service is always very friendly. But last week we had the food delivered to our home. I have to say the food is warm and delivered quickly.

We went to the restaurant on Friday to celebrate a birthday. We all enjoyed the food. At the end there was a large desert plate with a candle on the house from the nice waitress. Super nice thanks again.

Unfortunately, I don't come to Hamburg that often. However, when I'm there, a visit to Gandhi is a must. A top class Indian restaurant. Friendly and competent service, great ambience and first-class dishes. Keep it up!

Super expensive according to what they offer. Not worth it.

The food was very tasty. One of 2 servings for the price 14.90 € much too small I had to reorder. Service shortly connected & not trying to find alternatives to my request. Stained tablecloth and desk pad.

A place to avoid ! Rude and slow staff, super expensive price ( get ready to pay 7 € a mineral water bottle!) and food nothing special. Really dissapointing

A really lovely Indian. I eat a lot of Indian and this was high up my list. I had a delivery and it was even well presented. Very nice.

Good Indian food in the middle of Hamburg

We ordered online, they came early, the food was fantastic; I've eaten my fair share of Indians. This was perfect. <3

One star because that is the lowest rating possible. Happy to spend more if the food is worth it. Unfortunately, only price stands out in this place. Chicken vindaloo was pinkish red in color (why not just dump a kilo of food color in it), and that taste was not even close to vindaloo. Baingan bharta tasted a tad sour. Naan was not baked enough. Super slow service is a cherry on top. Never again.

I am giving one star cause there is no provision for zero star. Unfortunately I tried their food 2 times. 1) we had ordered the food as home delivery , delivery was faster but the food was so tasteless that we could not finish our plates.It was our first time to ordered from that restaurant and to be on safer side we had order Daal-Tadka (simplest Indian authentic dish any one can prepare) and it was prepared using chana daal instead of toor daal. (biggest shock of my life :D ) also taste was really bad...we threw the food :( 2) my friends had planned dinner and I wasnt aware that they chose Gandhi Restaurant,after reaching there I saw its Gandhi ....but i said "lets give them another chance" and to my surprize food was again pathetic and the tall attendant was rude (didnt greet us, answered our queries as if he is not in a mood to talk and after paying bill in cash he didnt consider returning change) we had ordered pakoda platter and all pakoda were very very dry and cold.Chutny(dips) were not at all indian (i didnt understand what was that) everything felt frozen food and they just warmed it up and placed in front of us. also one more incidence I would like to share, apart from food . When we went there , that tall man was already fighting (orally) with old aged customer because that old man didnt like the food and he said he dont wana pay.In my opinion tall man should have taken it positively and should have handled politely but he said he will call police n all.... I am an indian and i surely can say "they are literally insulting delicious indian food"...please dont go there

We waited literally 1 hour for the main dish after the appetizer. Later we waited another half an hour until we could pay and finally leave. Definition of hell is the eternal waiting at Gandhi.

Price - performance is great! You get a 3-course menu for under 10 € and the service is also very friendly. Found the restaurant over LunchNow and even got a goodie.

We were a group of 4 ( 3 Indians and our Lady German host ) . The waiter ( Tall Punjabi guy ) did not greet us while taking our order. No smile nothing Just matter of factly !! We ( All 4 of us including our Host ) got a feeling that we are sort of unwelcome there .. We asked him to split the Red Wine that he got to us for 2 and he happily Billed us for 2 wines. We brought it to his notice and he rectified. With the other reviews that I see for this same Gandhi Restaurant - I think it was no error !! No Card accepted. Only Cash and we were unpleasantly surprised. With the cash that we had paid ..he just said Thank You and presumed that the balance is his Tip. He did not even return the Balance change and did not even offer to give us a bill. We left without a bill .Left to ourselves we did not want to Tip him at all. We were there on 29th Nov 18 @ 6:45 pm FYI. As regards the quality of food ( 5/10 ). We asked for Dal Tadka - The Dal has to be Tur Dal Not Channa Dal !! Pls let me know if anyone thinks otherwise !? Very very avoidable. We don't get Indian food nor the Indian friendliness / hospitality . Bad ambassador for everything !!

If I could give less than one star I would. While my friends and I spent a dinner there, my friend was unsatisfied with the plate she ordered. She ordered the paneer pakora and naan. She was unsatisfied with her paneer pakora, she found it tasted like water and lacked spice. To make her meal more edible she wanted sauce or something to put on top. The waiter did not apologize for my friend’s disatisfaction and even went to far as to charge her 3.70 euros for the sauce when it should have been complimentary due to her disatisfaction. The owner of the restaurant even argued with my friend saying “it doesn’t taste like water”, when he also should have been apologetic. Arguing with customers is not how you get people to return to your restaurant. We will not be returning due to the poor customer service.

This place is shockingly bad. Chicken tikka masala resembles nothing like the real thing (tough chunks of tandoori chicken dumped into a super red, salty and un-Indian sauce) and the prawn biryani (which includes mussels and crab meat..) sounded bad on paper and tasted worse in real life. As another reviewer mentioned it was wet and had no biryaniness to it, it was absolutely awful. I believe the owner of this place is probably the one running front of house - so is stressed, way too stingy to pay for a waiter/waitress, jacks up the prices way beyond what it should be, doesn't care much on repeat business. I ordered a takeaway (two dishes at 36 euro), grab him two twenties and he didn't offer my 4 euro back. Please avoid. I'm from London and Indian food is more or less my staple. This place ought to close down imo.

This is not proper Indian food. Considering the high price having bad service with mediocre food is not ok. My Indian girlfriend also got cheated with the price when she paid. She is quite disappointed that I can't give a lower rating.

I have ordered a Biryani, and I come from a place where Biryani is famous in the world! I won't say that it should be something like that but I would expect something better, but the Biryani which I got was horrible, it is very wet, and the chicken pieces were very dry and not properly served! Every Indian want to taste some Indian in the taste from that so called to be Indian restaurant!! I couldn't taste anything so, on the other hand they were some thing which shouldn't be in the Biryani like Zucchini and some other things. Hope to give much lower but the least was one

Average Indian food. They normally don't let you take good home, but the portions were so big that they made an exception for us... Which we unfortunately forgot upon leaving.

Too much spices and I don't mean hot spices. Food was very nicely presented but the taste left a lot to be desired.

The food was very good, and portions generous, but service was very bad. The host has been unfriendly every time I've been there. It's also on the pricey side.

Self mixed curry.
